ABOUT
DESIGN WITH A SENSITIVE APPROACH TO SENSUALITY, SURROUNDING, MOVEMENTS AND SOCIAL RHYTHM.
It is key to consider contexts of design, whether historical, social or topographical. There are layers to every city, every community, which the design choices must reflect and complement. However, the introduction of a new concept to attend to requirements of the existing may lead to fascinating narratives, perhaps with the ability to affect the context on a wider scale than simply the building.
Personal narrative, also, can play a vital role within every phase of the design process. It leads the journey through a manipulated space (which we call architecture) using user intention, function and requirement to dictate how the design will manifest within the lives of its users. The finished product is therefore intertwined with these factors through design choices.
The interaction of person-to-space drives my concept of "MOMENTS", one I hope to continue to explore in the next steps of my education and career. Visual aesthetic may create a "!" MOMENT, but using sight with smell, touch and sound, it can encapsulate. I aspire for my architecture to resonate with emotion from interaction. I hope this will stage significant and lasting memories, even leading to a pause from the hectic pace of everyday life.
